2022 Youth Masters & Queens

FORMAT

QUALIFYING SQUADS: Bowlers will bowl 4 games during one of the 3 qualifying squads. Bowlers can bowl in multiple squads. Bowlers will use their highest 4 game total from the qualifying round as their final placement. Payment must be received a minimum of 1 hour prior to bowling in any squad. Bowlers must be checked-in 30 minutes before the start of each squad. Top 16 boys and girls will advance to the Finals and earn a spot on the Indiana All Star Team

FINALS; Bowlers must be checked-in 30 minutes prior to the start of the finals. All qualifying bowlers will bowl 4 additional games with the total pins carrying over from the qualifying round. After 4 games, the field will be cut to the Top 8. The Top 8 will then be seeded into a double elimination bracket to determine the Indiana Masters & Queens champion.

 

If any of the Top 16 bowlers in the boys or girls division are not able to participate in the Indiana/Kentucky All Star event, the vacated spot will be awarded to the next highest score during the qualifying round.

RULES

1.   All USBC Tournament rules apply to the tournament unless stated below, including Rule 400. All decisions will be made by the Tournament Director and/or the IS USBC Board of Directors

2.   Participant must be a certified USBC youth bowler and bowl in a USBC sanctioned league in the state of Indiana, including the Indiana High School and Middle School Bowling program.

3.   This is a scratch tournament with 2 divisions, Boys and Girls. A total of 4 qualifying games will be bowled each qualifying squad

4.   Total pin-fall of the 4 games will determine the top 16 in each division to compete in the finals round on Sunday May 2.

5.   Upon request, the bowler must have proof of average for the 2021-22 season, with minimum of 12 games. Girls must have a minimum average of 150, Boys must have a minimum average of 170.

6.   Entry fee is $50, $12.00 for lineage, $23 for the scholarship fund, and $15 expense fee. There is a $10 fee for any entry and payment received after April 18, 2022.

7.   Walk-in entries will be accepted up 1 hour before the start of each qualifying squad and allowed based on lane availability.

8.       A bowler can bowl in a maximum of 3 qualifying  squads.

9.       DRESS CODE: The dress code will be open to collared shirts or mock collared shirts. Pants can be full-length slacks or skorts or capris for girls and golf/dress shorts for the boys. Shorts, skirts, skorts are required to a minimum of 1 inch below the hands for both boys and girls. All necessary undergarments must be worn and not visible at anytime. No hats, scarves, bandanas can be wore or any electronic devices be used during qualifying, unless for medical purposes. No advertisement of alcohol, tobacco, or gambling industries will be allowed. Any violation of this rule, the bowler will be removed from the competition and no refund will be issued. All questionable attire will be decided by the Tournament Director. Bowlers MUST be in tournament attire at time of check-in for inspection.

10.   Parents/coaches/spectators will not be permitted in the bowler’s area during practice and competition. This area will defined before practice starts.

11.   All bowling balls must conform to USBC specifications and must have a readable brand, model, and serial number. Any participant found using illegal equipment will receive a zero for the frame(s) and the ball will be taken out of play.

12.   Bowlers will receive ten (10) minutes of practice on their starting lanes only before the beginning of the squad. Bowlers will move after each game, moving one pair to the right within the 10 lane blocks.

13.   All entrants MUST checked in no later than 30 minutes prior to the designated start time or their spot may be released if a waiting list is being used. No refund will be given; however, the entry may be used for another squad.

14.   In the event of a tie for the 16th position in qualifying, all bowlers in the tie will advance to the finals

15.   In case of center equipment failure or delay, the tournament director will make the decision according to USBC rule 327c. For any reason it becomes impossible to conduct or complete this tournament, as publicized, there shall be no further liability of the Indiana All Stars tournament to entrants.

16.   Bowlers should keep close check on pin fall and scoring. It is your responsibility to notify the bowling center or tournament staff of any errors in scoring, so they may be corrected. DO NOT CHANGE SCORES YOURSELF. You MUST have another bowler on your pair confirm your scores are written down correctly after each game. Bowlers must initial another entrant’s scores for verification after the game is bowled and sign their own score sheet. All information must be filled out entirely prior to turning them into the tournament office. Once turned in ALL scores are final.

17.   Protests must be in writing and must be filed by participant only within 72 hrs of completion of qualifying event.

18.   No tobacco of any kind (chew, smokeless, cigarettes, etc.) or alcohol will be permitted in the Indiana Youth Masters and Queens qualifying area or consumed by a bowler during competition. Any bowlers found in violation of this rule will be removed from competition and scores disqualified. Parents will be prohibited from using tobacco products or alcohol in the tournament lanes as well.

19.   No food or beverages will be allowed in the bowler’s area during competition.

20.   ALL APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY PAYMENT OR THEY WILL BE RETURNED.

 

SPECIAL NOTICE: Anyone displaying unsportsmanlike conduct (cursing, deliberate fouling, obscene or derogatory gestures, kicking or hitting ball returns or walls, etc.) may result in disqualifications. ANY BOWLERS CAUSING A DISTURBANCE as determined by either a complaint from other bowlers or as deemed disruptive by a tournament director may lead in DISQUALIFICATION. This rule also includes parents or spectators and those issues will be addressed by having the person (s) removed from the center.
